Fishball Noodles

A story about Fishball Noodles....

A couple met over a bowl of fishball noodles. How? He was always ordering from the same stall, sitting at the same corner and have his fishball noodles alone. Across the table at the other end, sat a ger, also ordered fishball noodles from the same stall, sitting at the same place to eat her noodles. He always notice her eating the noodles first and not touching the fishballs only until the end of her meal. He ponders, "Why does she do that?" It's a burning question he wanted to ask.

One day, at the same place, the guy saw the lady again. Instead of sitting down at his usual corner, he went over n sat in front of the ger.

Guy, "Hi."

Ger, "..."

Guy feeling a bit paiseh cos the ger ignored him but since already 'throw face' liao, he continue with the 'conversation'.

"Hi again. Erm... I always see u sitting at the same place eating fishball noodles from the same stall. So do I." Flashing his widest smile hoping she'll reponse.

"Yah."

"Erm... I happened to notice that you always leave the fishballs to the last. Why huh?"

She juz gave him a smile shrugged her shoulders.

"You dun like?"

She juz smile again.

After a few 'meetings', the ger slowly opened up n they started dating..... Their fav dating spot? The place where fishball noodles brought them tgt. As usual, they will order fishball noodles. But now, he will 'help' her to clear away her fishballs, since she doesn't like them anyway..... This went on for 3 yrs. Everytime he'll 'help' her to eat the fishballs and she juz let him have them. Eventually, they got married.

One fine day, guy finalli asked the ger again.

"Darling, why do you always order fishball noodles and you dun eat the fishballs? You can always order some other noodles ah."

Ger gave him a loving smile and said, "Baby, I never once said that I dun like fishballs. I LOVE them! Otherwise, why would I be eating it everytime?"

Guy was stunned! "Den why you always let me have them when you love it? And why do you always leave them till the end to eat?"

"Cos you love to eat them too, dun you? Though I love to eat fishballs but I love the happy look on your face even more when you eat them. I leave them till the end cos it's juz my habit. I'll leave those I love to eat for the last."

Guy was touched. He pulled his darling wife into his arms and hugged her real tight.....

xxx

You like the story? Someone told me this story, but I mod a bit ;p I love to eat fishball noodles too. I used to order it everytime when my parents bring me out to eat. It's rare that my family eat out when I was young cos my mum would cook. I dunno what to order so I will say I wanna eat fishball noodles everytime. LOL~

My affinity with fishball noodles goes a long way... I used to hav them as breakfast every Sunday morning. There's oso the incidents of 'flying' fishballs.... anyway, my post today is not juz abt fishball noodles, but also abt eating habits.

Do you notice the sequence you eat your meals? Do you eat those you like first? Or those you dun like first? Or juz mix-n-match, you dun realli care you eat what first?

If you are the type who eat those you dun like first, you belong to the type whereby you can endure hardship in order to achieve what you want in life. You have the patience to wait and go thr' the shit before embracing the sweet fruit of victory. You are generally more well organised and plan your future.

If you are the type who eat those you like first, you are generally less patient. You know how to enjoy life and have the live for the moment attitude. Whatever the future might be, you couldn't care less, as long as you are happy now. The shit you gonna get in the future is for the future to worry abt.

If you are the mix-n-match type, you are someone who is well balanced in life. You jaga your time well and you know when is the time to have fun and when to be serious. You look at things from both side and hence having the tendency to think too much, making you indecisive.

Next time when you are having a lunch/dinner date and you dunno how to break the ice, try telling them the fishball story and ask them the eating habit question :) Well, whether it's accurate anot, tat's not the point, at least, you get the ball rolling!

Hope you guys like today's post. Everytime blog abt where to find good n cheap food oso abit sian. Bring your date to a lo-man-tic place but both sit there stare at each other oso very weird. Your friendly blog master here thut for everything. From your pocket to the topics you can chat over the delicious meals :) Bon appetite!

有朋拉面饺子馆

有朋拉面饺子馆

Beauty World Centre Hawker

Being a fan of 小笼包 & 饺子 this is a definately a gift to let me find tis place :) Or shld I say, I muz thank my baobei for bringing me there? hee~ It's located in a hawker centre so how expensive can it get? Price aside, I'm sure u'll not be disappointed with the taste as well :D

Ordered the 小笼包, $7 for 10! Ok one like need $0.70 but den again, if u go Crytal Jade or Ding Tai Fung, how much will it cost u?? Trust me, this is better! Ok the skin although is not as thin as those found at the classy expensive chinese restaurant BUT it serves a purpose. How many times we tried so hard not to break the skin so the tasty 'juice' will not flow out n get wasted? It's the WHOLE purpose of eating 小笼包 isn't it? For the soup tat's inside! So this skin is SLIGHTLY thicker so it doesn't breaks so easily. So how u eat 小笼包? Bite off the top to create a hole. Den u sip the soup from the top. I tell u, the soup is heavenly. Baobei told me he had nv tried any 小笼包 as gd as this. I do hav to agree with him. The soup is so sweet. Simply delicious!!

The delicious 锅贴 is selling at $6 for 10.

Although I prefer 饺子 to 锅贴, this is a MUST try!!! I'm a BIG fan of 饺子 whereby I can eat 20 饺子 all by myself at one go. Since my baobei say must give this a try, I agreed :) And I'm so glad I did! the 锅贴 is not fried like some places and only the base is pan fried. Crispy on the bottom n soft on the top. Be careful when you eat this special 锅贴. Bite it vertically upwards at a corner when you eat. Cos similar to the 小笼包, this has soup in it too!!! WOW! Can u imagine tat?? The soup is so sweeeet..... Thinking of it now is making me drool...

Where to find such delicious 小笼包 & 锅贴 n not burn ur pocket? It's a pl I will definately go back again to try other stuff, esp my 饺子!! Hee~

Note: the waiting time cn be a bit long cos it's made-to-order :)

Friends vs Acquaintances

Taking a break from blogging on Foodie....

Cos I had a wonderful weekend with meine Familie (it means My Family in German), I wanna blog abt it :P It puts me pondering over the Friends & Acquaintances issue.

This was taken on Fri nite. We went Holland V to chill tat nite. We r all 'related' in family terms... LOL!

Taken on Sat (Halloween Nite) at Alps Cafe. We are a crazy bunch.
It's amazing how we came tgt as frens n sharing we secrets, emotions & feelings. We have the mutual trust & understanding, being there for each other and we care right from the heart. We hang out, laugh, joke n get wasted tgt. We communicate on the same frequency and sometimes, we dun even hav to say it out, we know n understand. That's the kind of 默契 we share. Calling u the first instant something emo appearing on ur FB status. Throwing everything aside n rushing dwn for u when u needed someone. Having frens like them, sometimes left me wondering whether is there a need for me to hav a bf? If e bf is sucky, I'm better off wo one. If e bf is always not there when u need him, having frens like mine, wld definately make u better off.
Why we r closer to some frens n onli remind as acquaintances for some? well, communication is impt b/w frens too. If the freq is not insync, it juz prevents the frenship to dev further as mutual understanding stage cnt be reached.
Some ppl make 'frens' with a purpose. Cos they r benefical to them. I hate this kind of superficial fakies. They juz irks me. I know I used to be one too. But after going thr e shit n emerged with e help of my true frens, I realised the importance of frenship n wat it means to be frens. I treat my frens with sincerity. Even if they wanna betray me or wearing a mask in front of me, tat's their choice. I know I treat them well from my heart, tat's gd enuff. Those who dun will get wat they deserves one way or another. Everything comes wif a price and I believe in e 3 fold law.
